What one OEE point is worth in Poland

On a reference two-shift line (3,600 planned hours a year, a crew of four, 150 kW average load, starting at 60% OEE) one extra OEE point is worth €5,931 a year in Poland at national costs.

In shortOne OEE point frees 59 line-hours a year on the reference line. At €17.1 per labour hour and €0.2140 per kWh, that is €4,037 of labour time and €1,894 of electricity: €5,931 per point, per line, per year. If the freed capacity can be sold instead, the same point is +1.7% good output: about €5,267 of value added at Poland’s average manufacturing productivity. Poland is at position 17 of 22 European countries on this measure.

The math. Hours freed = planned hours × (1 − OEE now ÷ (OEE now + gain)): the same good output needs fewer planned hours. Value = hours freed × (operators × labour cost + kW × electricity price). Labour only counts if the hours are really released: overtime, a shift, agency staff or people moved to other work.

What moves the number in Poland

Hourly labour cost in Poland’s manufacturing rose 29.5% between 2023 and 2025 (EU-27: +9.0%). Every year on that slope raises the value of the same OEE point by about the same proportion. 68% of the value is labour time and 32% is electricity.

Public money for a measurement project in Poland

Dig.IT: Transformacja cyfrowa polskich MŚP, run by ARP and co-financed by FENG, gives manufacturing SMEs a grant of PLN 150,000-850,000 (about €34k-195k), up to 50% of eligible costs per consultant summaries. Software, MES and implementation are eligible; hardware, equipment and training are capped at 40% of the budget. ARP plans the second call for the turn of Q3/Q4 2026.

Value-added view
National manufacturing value added per person employed, €39,500 in 2025 (Eurostat nama_10_a10 ÷ nama_10_a10_e), for eight people, × 1/60. A national average, not your margin: use the OEE ROI calculator with your own contribution margin.
What it is not
Not a margin figure, and not everything a point is worth: maintenance, scrap and overhead effects are left out, and they usually make the real figure larger.

Questions

How much is one OEE point worth in Poland?
About €5,931 a year on a two-shift line with four operators and 150 kW load, starting from 60% OEE, at Poland’s national labour and electricity costs. On three shifts (6,000 planned hours) the same point is worth about €9,885.
Why does each OEE point get worth less as OEE rises?
Because each point is a smaller share of what the line already produces: from 60% to 61% saves 1/61 of planned time, from 80% to 81% only 1/81. At 80% OEE the same point is worth €4,467 in Poland.
Should I use this number in a business case?
Use it as the floor. It prices only released hours and electricity; if the line is sold out, value the extra output at your contribution margin instead, and add scrap and maintenance effects once you have measured them.
